Refund Policy

Refund Policy – Wye Oak Genealogy LLC

At Wye Oak Genealogy, we take pride in delivering meticulous, personalized research to help clients discover and preserve their family history. Due to the nature of genealogical research—which involves time-intensive analysis, use of paid databases, and interpretation of historical records—all sales are considered final once research has commenced.

 

However, we understand that circumstances can change. Our refund policy is outlined below:

 

Consultation Phase

Clients may cancel within 48 hours of scheduling their free email consultation. No payment is required during this phase.

Pre-Research Phase

Full refunds are available only if the cancellation request is made before research has begun. A written notice must be submitted via email within 5 calendar days of invoice payment.

Post-Research Commencement

Once research has started, refunds are not available due to the custom nature of our services and the time already invested.

In rare cases of documented service error (e.g., mistaken identity, misinterpreted scope), Wye Oak Genealogy may, at its discretion, offer a partial refund or revision.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are non-refundable but may be transferred to another individual upon written request by the original purchaser.

Refund Request Process

To request a cancellation or refund, contact us at wyeoakgenealogy@gmail.com with your name, project title, and reason for the request.

Refunds, if granted, will be processed within 10 business days to the original payment method.
